Pulsed eddy current (PEC) measurement is an NDT method used to quickly map the corrosion condition and remaining wall thickness of pipework, pressure vessels and tanks, even through insulation. This saves our clients money, as the insulation does not need to be removed. Detailed mapping then follows, in which a contact probe detects the condition of the material, with detailed plotting and a 3D model.
The analysis and evaluation themselves are also faster than with other NDT methods. The measured values are relative and represent the change in wall thickness (or material loss) of the inspected object compared with a reference (known) value. For this work we use state-of-the-art LYFT and REDDY technologies from Eddyfi.
